A Man and his Prostate Starring Ed Asner
September 15 @ 7:30 PM
A MAN AND HIS PROSTATE a comedic reading, written by Ed Weinberger, takes one on a journey of pain, anatomy, and laughter - not necessarily in that order. Based on the true-life experience of Ed Weinberger (Mary Tyler Moore, Taxi, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson), while on vacation in Italy. Ed Asner is a man who discovers his inner self in more ways than one. A near tragedy is masterfully transformed into a one-man comedy, perfectly portrayed in his hilarious visit to the hospital in preparation for surgery he doesn’t want.
Ed Asner, Icon of American Television, 7-time Emmy Award Winner, 20 Emmy Nominations, Star of Stage, TV, Film, and Voice-over, and Past President of Screen Actors Guild. Ed is the only actor to have won an Emmy for the same role in both a comedy and a drama (Mary Tyler Moore Show and Lou Grant). He went on to win two more Emmy Awards for complex roles in the mega-hit miniseries “Roots” and “Rich Man, Poor Man”.
